Telephones
Phones are located in the waiting area and each room in the Treatment area. If you need to use a telephone while in the treatment area, please ask a staff member to direct you. You may use cellular phones in the hospital, except in restricted areas. Non-hospital approved two-way radios, walkie-talkies and emergency band scanners are prohibited from use inside the hospital.

Food
In the Emergency Department, meals are available to patients. Please ask your nurse if you may eat, as certain medical conditions or upcoming tests may require that your stomach be empty. Your family may also purchase food and beverages from the hospital cafeteria, the Bishop's Pantry, or from vending machines that are located near the emergency department.

For Visitors, Emory University Hospital and its surrounding area offer visitors a variety of choices for food and snacks.

  • Asbury Court (take the E-wing or G-wing elevators to the ground floor) features a variety of foods. Call 2-GOOD for daily menus. Hours of operation are 6:30 to 9:30 a.m., 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., 5 to 8 p.m. and 2 to 4 a.m. Check postings outside the cafeteria entrance for the most current schedule.

  • The Bishop's Pantry is located next to Asbury Court and offers assorted pastries, cakes, hand-dipped ice cream, cappuccino, assorted beverages and boxed lunches. Hours of operation are 6:30 to 10:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

  • The Snack Bar on the second floor, C-wing, has vending machines for sandwiches, hot beverages, soft drinks, candies, crackers, ice cream and other snacks.

  • Clinic, Building A, directly opposite the hospital on Clifton Road, offers cafeteria-style service, including grilled and short-order items and entrees. Hours: 7:15 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Entree service closes at 2:15 p.m.

  • Many other restaurants are within walking distance or a short drive of the hospital. For information on area dining, check with the hospital concierge, 404-712-5619.

Restrooms
Restrooms are located near the waiting room next to registration and throughout the treatment area. Please ask a staff member to assist you in locating the closest restroom.

Valuables and Personal Belongings
Please help us protect your valuables and personal belongings while you are here by taking these precautions: Leave valuable jewelry or watches at home as well as billfolds or pocketbooks containing large amounts of money. Ask your nurse to lock small valuable items in the hospital safe. Personal belonging bags for your clothing are available from your nurse, who also will be glad to provide you a case to protect your glasses when you're not wearing them. Please do not wrap dentures or hearing aids in tissue and place them on your food tray, bedside table or night stand. They are easily mistaken for trash. And finally, remember to label all your containers or bags with your name and room number.

Banking
ATMs are located in the second-floor atrium, just outside the admissions area, and outside Asbury Court cafeteria on the ground floor. For neighborhood banking locations, please ask the concierge.

Gift Shop
Our gift shop, located in A-212 near the second-floor atrium, offers a wide selection of items, including nightgowns, robes, slippers, candy, flowers, writing materials and gifts for all occasions. The shop is open from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on weekdays, 9 a.m. to 4:30p.m. on Saturday, and 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. on Sunday. Profits from our gift shop benefit patient services. Phone: 404-712-7218.
