Sameh (Sam) A. Labib, M.D.
As an assistant professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at Emory University, Dr. Labib's areas of clinical interest include sports injuries and arthroscopy of the shoulder, knee and foot; joint cartilage repair of the knee and ankle; and reconstructive surgery of the knee and foot, including total ankle replacement.
Dr. Labib earned his medical degree with honors from Ain-Shams University in Cairo, Egypt in 1981. He completed his Orthopaedic Surgery Residency at McGill University, Montreal, Canada, in 1991, followed by a Sports Medicine Surgery Fellowship at the University of Western Ontario. Dr. Labib joined the staff of Emory University School of Medicine and Emory Healthcare in 1999, after having completed a Foot and Ankle Surgery Fellowship at The American Sports Medicine Institute in Birmingham, Alabama.
Dr. Labib is fluent in Arabic and French and has lectured both nationally and internationally at orthopaedic meetings.
Dr. Labib was nominated by his peers as one of Atlanta's Top Sports Medicine Doctors (Atlanta Magazine, 2001).
